Becoming A Member
At Christian Tabernacle Church, we sincerely value relationships – vertically with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and horizontally with each other. Being a “church without walls” is not only our motto but what we strive to practice by embracing and reaching out to people of diverse cultural backgrounds who may have already found Jesus Christ and as we do, proclaim him as Lord and Savior or those on the journey toward the cross. Join us as we bond together for a common mission and vision.
If you are led by the Holy Spirit to unite with this congregation, please know that we would love for you to unite with us.
How To Become A Member
You can become a member of Christian Tabernacle Church (CTC) by coming forward when the “Invitation to Christian Discipleship” is extended, immediately following the sermon. If the Spirit moves you, also please see one of our ministers after service or make an appointment.
We think membership in the Christian Tabernacle Church family is important. Why? Jesus gave priority to the church Matthew 16:10-19. The New Testament has many references to the church, and most of these refer to the local body of believers. Therefore, the New Testament pattern was connection to a local church. Membership identifies a person as a genuine believer (Ephesians 2:19) Membership expresses your commitment to God (Matthew 22:37). Membership provides a spiritual family to support and encourage you in your walk with Christ (Hebrews 10: 24- 25). Membership gives you the opportunity to discover and exercise your gifts in ministry. (1 Corinthians 12: 4-27). Membership gives you the accountability you need to help you become a mature follower of Christ
(Ephesians 4: 13-16).

You can present yourself for membership at Christian Tabernacle Church in one of the following ways:
Baptism / Profession of Faith
Individuals who profess for the first time that Christ is their Lord and Savior join the church through their profession of faith and are subsequently baptized during one of the worship services.
Statement of Faith/ Christian Experience
Persons who are members of churches may join upon their profession of faith in Christ as Lord and Savior and acknowledgement they’ve been baptized by immersion as a believer.
Transfer of Membership
Individuals who are members of another church can request membership via transfer of their membership to this congregation. The church office, in turn, contacts the other church for an official recommendation and transfer of membership.
Watchcare
These individuals are members of another church yet want to join our church family while they are living in the community. They do not want to transfer their membership from their church, but want to identify with our church family. College students, extended or short-term workers in the area may use this membership option or individuals visiting family members throughout the year and desire a local church home. While Watchcare membership allows for all the privileges of fellowship and worship, one may not serve in an elected position of leadership or vote in church business sessions.
Our CTC staff actively participates and teaches from the book, “The Abundant Life” as well as the Christian Tabernacle Church’s Constitution and By-Laws. This class, with its Biblical and foundational curriculum, is designed to help you discover the purpose, vision and ministries of our church. Please call our Administrative Office at 630.529.1282 for further details on the next class.
Be involved in Kingdom living, growth and serving, by professing Christ as Lord and Savior of your life.
